Are you thinking about having a twilight wedding in winter at Old Marylebone Town Hall? You might have some reservations about how your photos will look without the light of the day but I hope this blog shows you just how magical it can be. This happy couple married on a rainy but beautifully festive day in December and I can’t wait to show you more.

Bridal Prep
Lizzie and James picked December for their micro wedding which meant that London was full of festive beauty for the day with twinkling fairy lights, wherever you looked. The soon to be bride and groom started the day at The Portobello, which is a boutique hotel in Notting Hill, so beautifully designed, it would have been a crime to miss having any photos there. If you are looking for a location for your bridal prep, I really recommend considering it, you can see their main website here. My bride really wanted to showcase her details and make the most of the room. I absolutely adored her Badgeley Mischka shoes and Solace London dress.

First Look and Group Photos
With a 4pm ceremony, when the sun would set in December, we scheduled the day a little more untraditionally. The bride and groom had their ‘first look’ in the magnificent suite at the Portobello (which was the most perfect backdrop) and we had the more formal group shots outside the hotel before setting off for the ceremony at Old Marylebone Town Hall. In December, there is always that higher risk of rain but the couple took my advice and pre ordered see through umbrellas for the day. Clear umbrellas mean that your faces will still be beautifully lit and won’t be obstructed for the photos. I think they look quite elegant too!

Couple Portraits at Old Marylebone Town Hall
On arrival at Old Marylebone Town Hall, I took the couple to a few of my favourite locations locally to the area for couple portraits. We had entered the blue hour, so I added my flash for some creamy light.

Sparkler Exit at Old Marylebone Town Hall
On exiting the ceremony, it was dark and just perfect for a sparkler exit. This is one huge perk of having a twilight ceremony. December plus sparklers = total magic. Winter wedding photography at Old Marylebone Town Hall is a dream.

Twilight Couple Portraits
I always have a pre consult call around a week before the wedding, and it was during this time that we spent some time thinking about where would be the best locations to stop off to get after dark couples photos. We opted for the iconic Albert bridge in Chelsea because of how beautifully it’s lit at night. It was the perfect romantic back drop!

The Evening
The route master bus dropped the bride and groom and their guests at a gorgeous Persian in West Hampstead (which being a North London girl, I had also visited!). They so kindly gifted me a bottle of champagne and it was here we parted ways and they began their wedding dinner.

Kind Words
“I don’t know what more to say then booking Tash will be a good decision. There is so much you have to think about planning a Wedding, so I’ll put your mind at ease now – if you book Tash you can relax and know that all of your planning work will be captured perfectly.
She put us and our guests at ease (everyone kept telling us how nice our photographer was). She helped us with locations and some small details for the day. Then finally when the previews arrived, we were stunned. Just incredible and once again everyone just said how amazing she is. To quote our bridesmaid: “Honestly your photographer! What a babe. you must be so happy x”. but the best compliment I could give Tash is how everyone who has seen the pictures says how happy we look- Isn’t that what’s most important.“
